  1. All correspondence tells a story, usually to a specific person or group of people.
  2. Use them to illustrate your words to communicate from a third person perspective.
  3. Your correspondence may fill the gaps between your ever-growing collections of poems, sounds and worlds.
  4. For non writers use experience and after-thought to create your “letters” or “postcards”.
  1. Write a postcard on any subject and relate it to how you feel, try to chose a different style each time.
  2. Visualise the effect as a correspondence sequence, modify where the dialog is too long.
  3. See yourself just creating more and more separate “postcards to self” to put your different ideas in.
  4. Learn that it is those little bits, added day by day, week by week will add up to complex works.
  5. See that correspondence that may mean little to start with can be kept alive by creating stories and articles on all that has meaning to you.
  6. Recognise that writing correspondence is why we differ from all our lovely creatures on this planet; if only they could write to us about things.
  1. Notice that a handful of your collected correspondence may be trivial in some way and some deep and/or shallow but that they are the developing you.
  2. Don’t worry about adding “nonsense” correspondence because we can all share and hope someone else may find them interesting.
  3. Your correspondence will take on a new meaning after you have been going for a while and as you learn to re-classify the things in your life.
  4. You can look back if you want but once you have written one, move on and consider the “postcard” themes you are best at.
